NOTES ON THE RACING. (Special .to the Star.) CHRISTCHURCH, June 4. Vice Admiral was sent out favourite for the King George Handicap, Man o’ War, Tatsy Dillon, Sherwood and Trix Pointer being next best supported. Agathos and Vice Admiral were both slow in settling to business, and Locanda Dillon soon raced to the front. Passing the half-mile post Locanda Dillon and Vice Admiral were well clear of Agathos, the .others being headed by Sherwood. By the time the stand was reached Vice Admiral was within a length of Locanda Dillon, while Man o’ War had worked his way into third place. Once into the back stretch Locanda Dillon gave place to Vice Admiral, and three furlongs from home Man o’ War was his nearest attendant. Vice Admiral held his position till within fifty yards from the post, where Man o’ War closed on him and in a good finish won by a length. Sherwood was a dozen lengths away, followed by Tatsy Dillon. Times 4.45 3-5, 4.50 4-5, 4.59 2Emperor was the popular fancy for the Stewards’ Handicap, with Indra, Onyx and Locanda Dillon supported in that order- Glen Mavis was the first to show out, followed by Lord Lytton. At the end of two furlongs Glen Mavis was jr t st showing out from Lord Lytton, Locanda Dillon and Guynemer, with Logan Queen and Onyx handy. Onyx improved hei position along the back, and at the nalf-mile post she went on in front, with .Lord Lytton, the others being Leaded by Locanda Dillon, who was well clear of Logan Queen, Star Queen aid Indra. Two furlongs from home Onyx and Lord Lytton had a lead of several lengths from the second division. Onyx was first into the straight and she won easily by over two lengths from Paul Dufault, who finished fast and beat Indra by half a length, with Lord Lvtton fouitji and Hayseed fifth. Times 2.59 4-5, 2.58 3- 3-1 4-5.

THE OAKS. LONDON, June 3. ' The Oaks Stakes resulted as follow ; —Pogrom 1, Soubriquet 2, Myssia Gardiner rode Pofrom, Donoghue Soubriquet and Archibald Myssa. Won by three-quarters of a length.
