SCull. .Fogwell established a lead of hall a length. Hannan, however, soon seftl -il down. At the end of half a mile he was on even terms with b’ogwi 11. Hannan gradually drew away, ind at _ijie mile he was a. bare length ahead. 'I he first iiiih 1 was done in 6min 15scc. At this stage Fogwell was spashing a lot. Fogwell was doing a, nice even stroke, rowing 22 to the other man’s 26.
Coming round the first bend, Hannan increased his lead to two lengths. Coming to the second bend, Fogwell quickened, and he picked up o\er a length. Once round this bend Hannan settled down to business, and when ho entered the stra’ght he wa.s throe and a-half lengths clear. This was the end of the second mile, which took also 6niin. 15 see. Fogwell now proved to done, ana Hannan, going on as he liked, won comfortably bv 10 lengths. Ihe trmo was 18min 50scc.
Hannan's supporters are anxious that ho should challenge the winner of the Hadfield-Paddon race. Ho gave a greatly improved showing to-day on his ' performance against Arnst. This is attributed io his having a now boat, and tn the fact that, his wrist is now completely recovered.
