TO-DAY’S CASES. "■'l Mr W. Meldrum, S.M., presided over a sitting of the Magistrate’s Court this morning. DRUNKENNESS, A first offender for drunkenness was fined the amount of his bail. DEFENCE CASE. John Joseph Blake for failure to attend drill was convicted and ordered to pay costs. WANDERING CATTLE. Richard John Samuel Finn was proceeded against by Thomas Merriman, roadman for the Runanga Borough Council, for allowing cattle to wander and fined ss, with costs. The roadman stated in his evidence that the proceedings were instituted in consequence of defendant’s refusal to pay 4s poundage fee. AFTER HOURS. A second offender, convicted of being illegally on licensed premises, was fined £l. MAINTENANCE. William (Jirrol was proceeded against for a variation of a maintenance order, made against him in respect ol an illegitimate child.
