Boult, late of Westport, has been appointed engineer' to the Cairns Harbour Board, Queensland. Mr. Len Neighbours, late conductor of the Waimangaroa Band, has been offered the conductorship of a band in Blenheim. Mr., Mrs., and Misses Parkman, who are touring the West Coast, will arrive from Westport to-night and leave for Christchurch to-morrow. Among the passengers jvho arrived on Saturday from Christchurch were Messrs Kellett, Dixon, Montgomery and Adams.

Mr. George Radalkidson has been elected a member of the Teachers’ Superannuation Board, in place of the late Mr. Finlay Bethune. , Mr. AV. H. Robison, representing E. Partridge and Co., Wellington, will arrive from Westport this evening. Mr. and Mrs. AV. McCarthy Reid, of Wellington, are on a trip to the Franz Joseph Glacier and the West Coast. \ The Hon. A private telegram last evening announced the death (suddenly) of Mrs. Joseph Fletcher, which took place at her residence, J'imaru, yesterday morning. Deceased lived in Greymouth for many years. Mr. S. R. Wright, engineer to the Waimate County Council has been appointed cleric and engineer to the Selwyn County Council. The present appointment makes Mr. Wright s third period of service with the Selwyn County Council. The death occurred at Dunedin on Thursday of Mr. AA. E. Gregory, of the firm of Coulls, Culling and Company, an old established printing firm which recently amalgamated with Wilkie and Co. Deceased was a wellknown bowler. Bishop Julius accompanied by Miss Julius, arrived in Hokitika on Friday last. The Bishop drove over in his own car. Yesterday he conducted • services at Kokatahi in the morning, • at Rimu in the afternoon, and Hoki- . tika in the evening, where there was a large congregation. He goes south to-morrow if the weather permits.
