• ' PEERLESS PICTURES. Win. Farnum in “Drag Harlan,” a six-act Fox film, will be shown at the Peerless in the Town Hall tonight for the last time. The supporting pictures include Eddie Polo in “King of the Circus” and a 2-reel Sunshine comedy, “The Simp, ’ starring Al St. John. Sunday’s attraction is a Selznick production “lhe Road to Ambition.” The leading male paid of Bill .Matthews, the steel works foreman, is very ably taken by Conway Tearle. Matthews >s a very powerfully-built determined man possessed of great ambition, and lie labours persistently at a valuable mechanical invention. ’lhe girl in the case is Daphne Steer (Florence Dixon) whose father has been defrauded of a. fortune by Philip Colt, the owner of the, mill. Daphne despises Bill for his rough, uncouth ways, but he is determined to marry her, and he is well on the way to achieve this ambition when his invention succeeds and brings him great wealth. In the meantime Colt is seeking to marry Daphne and Bill becomes involved with a” needy society woman, wiiom Im has hired to teach him to polish his manners. I’lirough this sordid tangle Bill eventually breaks his way in masterly fashion, disposes of the evil society woman, forces Daphne to marry him, and thrashes Colt ,in a quite satisfying manner. Wednesday’s attraction is a Real Art special entitled "Soldiers of I* ortune. Mountains chopped down because they interfered with a girl’s view. The onginoor hero would not let mere rocky ranges obstruct lhe vision of the lady he loved, and whom he had Loved long before, they even met. It s a corking romance.
