Owing to reduced earnings, it has been found necessary to reduce the weekly sailings of the Union Co. and Huddart Parker steamers between Sydney and Auckland to an interval of ten days in each ease. Care has been taken, however, when drafting the new timetable to provide for a five-day interval between sailings from Auckland and AVellington. CO Al MON AVE A LTII LINE. LONDON, June 27. It is rumoured that Mr. Al. Anderson will probably be offered the temporary managership of the Commonwealth Shioping Line, pending the selection of a shipping expert. Mr. Hughes has not .vet replied to Air. Larkin’s letter convoying his resignation. Air. Hughes refuses to disclose his intentions, but it is believed that he will allow the resignation to operate automatically on Thursday night. NEAV SERVICE. LONDON, June 28.. The Orient Coy’s intermediate service commences with the Omar and Orcades. The saloon fares will be £2O to £4O below the mail steamers’ rates. The third class fares are the same as the mail-ships. The Kokiri arrived this morning and sails to-morrow for Dunedin. The Kakapo sails to-morrow night for AVellington. The Karamn is due to-night from Lyttelton, and loads coal and timber for AVellington. The Kittawa leaves Lyttelton to-mor-row with general cargo for Greymouth. She is to load coal and timber for the same port. The Kamona has been diverted from Greymouth to AA'estporl. The Ngahere sailed last night for Wellington. The AVaimea is due to-night from Picton and Nelson. On discharge of inward cargo, she loads coal for Castlecliff. The Alexander is due to-morrow from. AA’ellington, via AVestport, with general cargo.
