In the earlv hours of yesterday morning, the Fire Brigade received a call'to, the vicinity of Heroert street,, where it was found that an outbreak had occurred in two small cottages. The flames had a good hold when the brigade arrived, and the bu linings were gutted. One of them is -understood to have been occupied by Air. W. Stanley, and the other by some Chinese. A member of the complement qf the barque “Rothesay Bay, ’ at _prfsc'n. in port, took an .involuntary header into the river on Saturday afternoon. He had the misfortune to miss nis footing, and fell into the river between the wharf and the vessel, plucky rescue was sheeted by a Mi. Roberts, who was passing the snot at the time, and the man was extricated none,the worse for the mishap.
