RIMUTAKA ARRIVES
OVER -300 PASSENGERS ABOARD
The liner Rimutake arrived at Wellington on Monday from Southampton. Tr.e vessel brought 323 passengers, a large number of whom were immigrants. There were also some details of rlie New Zealand Expeditionary Force. About 100 of the passengers weie nominated, and also as many move came out under the Imperial Government's overseas settlement scheme. Ihe men of the % party are of mixed occupations, farmers and cleiks predominating, while among the women are a few domestics. Many of the passenger? were met by relatives or friends The arrangements for the reception o( the immigrants-and for their dispatch to various destinations north and south were excellently carried out by the immigration authorities. The Rimutaka, which journeyed out via Newport News and the Panama Canal, had a fairly good trip, the heaviest weather being experienced just before reaching Mew Zealand. There were a few cases of measles and diphtheria in a mild form, but all except two had quite recovered before the ship arrived. The two will receive further treatment at the Wellington hospital.
