(Own Correspondent.) ATHLETICS. The adjourned annual meeting of the Athletic and Aquatic Club took place at V.i ana on Thursday night and, contrary to expectations in some quarters, there was considerable interest manifested, there being a large attendance of members and irtending members. Mr I. Olsen occupied the chair, and stated that tlie. annual meeting had been adjourned owing to inability to elect an executive. He read the minutes of the last meeting, which wove confirmed. Nominations weio then called for chairman /■>r the ensuing year. Mr J. Williams, wlio has occupied- that position since the inception of the club nine years ago, declined nomination, and it was only after a great deal of persuasion that the outgoing secretary agreed to accept office on certain renditions. The election of the executive resulted as follows: —Chairman. Mr G. Gilhnde'f; Fccretarv and treasurer, Mr J. Chamber* ; committee: Messrs Williams, Buchanan, Pobinson, Oben, Lowe, Hines, Kerapie; handicappers: Messrs Williams and Cillanders; auditors: Messrs Nyberg n.d rlrdd. Mr ,T. Nyberg was appointed J resident of the Club, and a number oi leading residents were placed on *he \ :;-e----piesidcrts' list. A number of new members having joinid the club membership is now ab.mt %
