POSTAL CHARGES
INCREASE IN POSTAGE. People who do not use the postal service regularly every day are reminded that since August Ist, the following rales obtain : Inland letters 2d for 2 ozs, postcards lgd, parcols 6d for the first pound newspapers Id, printed matter lJ,d for each 4ozs up to lib. Other increase's have also been notified. The taxation in this department is generally felt to be severe, though necessary, in view of increasing costs of all the necessaries of life, Gerstena will be more than ever welcome in the homes of the people.
