A BIG FIRE.
(Jror Press Association.) BLENHEIM, This Day. At an early hour this morning an alarm of fire was given by the watchman at the Wairau Hospital. tl was discovered that there had been an outbreak in the roof of the laundry and the engine-room. , Though a large up-to-date new building, there were no fire-fighting apparatus available. The staff saved what was movable. The building was completely gutted. The machinery which includes an electric plant, was badly damaged. The cause of the f : re is a mystery. The insurances are £4500 in the Royal Exchange. The buildings and plant are valued at £9OOO.
