WHITE AUSTRALIA POLICY IN DANGER. SECRET DIPLOMACY. (Australian and N.Z. Cubic Association.) Received this day at 9.15 a.m. SIDNEY, This Day. Tlio “Sun” newspaper, in an article on tne “ w hite Australia” policy, states tnat the question as to whetiier the principle ui the policy oi a White Australia” is in jeopardy must finally lie answered by tne end of the year at the conference in Geneva, when the Australian mandate in the Pacific is F l ’°' mitigated. The paper states that secret diplomacy still precludes the public from knowing-all that happens betwen the Chancelleris, but there is the very .best reason for stating 1 that japan very decidedly, upon several occasions, endeavoured to render the “White Australia” policy abortive, and that she will undoubtedly attempt t-> destroy it again at Geneva, where the policy may be cavassed in a far more detached, academic spirit. There will be a greater number of delegates with a greater number of votes, which may swing for or against Australia, and once a decision is reached Australia must either submit or break away from the League of Nations. ■" The “3un” states that unless'Ministers are able to. honestly affirm the integrity of the “White Australia” policy ’it will not be upset at Geneva. A delegation should be despatched to Geneva to the claims of the “White Australia” policy.
