ANNUAL REPORT. GREYMOUTH CLUB, The following report will he presented at the annual meeting of the Greymouth Trotting Club, to he hell next week : ANNUAL REPORT. Gentlemen, —In presenting the balance sheet for the season 1919-1920 your committee congratulates members on the satisfactory result of the years operations.

The Spring A lee ting which had lapsed during the war was resumed this year and probed very successful, whilst the Summer Sleeting was easily the most satisfactory yet held by the Ohio. The season just closed will he a memorable one in the Club’s history, as during it the long cherished desire of committees, both past and present, for an up-to-date track has been realised, the Club now possessing a half-mile track equal to anything in the Lominion.

A vast amount of work in connection with the course appointments has also iron accomplished and the Club is now in a position to cater for much larger gatherings without any further very heavy expenditure being incurred. Arrangements have also been made for installing a modern Totaiisator, ami Mr. H. D. James will have this in operation for the forthcoming Spring Meeting. This a decided acquisition to the Club and of consider able convenience 1 to our patrons. During the year two vacancies have occurred in the committee —Mr. M. W. McCarthy, for many years a Steward and official, resigned owing to having removed from the district; and Mr. Michael Hannan, always a keen member of the Club, whose deatli took place at Christchurch in November last. Mr. Hannan gave valued service to the Club as a Steward and also as a member of the Judicial Committee and his demise is much regretted. The vacancies on the committee have been filled bv the appointment of> Messrs J. W. Hannan and F. J. Parkinson.

During the year the amount of £2,097 12s lid was paid to the Government'by way of taxation on the four davs’ trotting. The future of the Club looks very hopeful and your committee is sanguine that ,the progressive policy adopted by the C’ub about 18 months ago has been fully justified.
