A LAND DEAL

There is an ever increasing demand for land on the West Coast, and prospective buyers are showing a keen interest in any land that is likely to be placed on the market. The “good things” are being rapidly disposed of. In th ; s respect a sale that has recent-ly-been effected should prove of interest to bur readers. Mr. J. A. MacKenzie. manager of the Greymouth branch of the National Mortgage Agency Company, reports that through the executors of the estate of the late Gerald Perotti the firm disposed of 1400 acres, of freehold land in a ulock on the Paroa-Nelson Creek-Mars-clen Roads to Mr. Gardiner Wilson at a satisfactory figure. The deal is one of the largest sales of freehold laud that has taken place on the Coast and augurs well for its future prosperity. Mr. Wilson is to be congratulated on his enterprise, which shows that iie has confidence on the stability of tins side of the Alps. It is the intention of the purchaser to cut up the land into smaller blocks suitable for dairy ing.
