Arrangements are being rapidly > made in order that .a fitting weioome may hd extended to lun Royal Highness the Prince 'of Wales, when he , Etisit Greyniouth on May 4-tn. The Mayor (Mr. J. D. Lynch) sent the following wires to the Mayors of Ross, Runanga, Rrunner, Hokiwka, Kumara, and the chairman of the Westland County Council. "A conference, of Mayors' of West; Coast boroughs and the chairmen of other local bodies will be held to-morrow at 8 p.m. at the Town Hall, Greymouth, to make preparations for the Royal visit. Trust you will attend.'' The Governor-General has sent the following wire to the Mayor: ''After consultation with Sir Francis Ball I have arranged to detail my military secretary to visit the various- places on the route by winch the Prince will travel in order to obtain an idea of what preparations the local authorities pronose to make io welcome his Royal Highness. Captain Rnoaes will arrive at Greymouth on Tuesday evening and will travel to Westport by-train.'' " The Mayor replied : "I shall be pleased to meet Captain Rhodes upon arrival and render every assistance pn'i'iible.'" His Worship also intimated to Captain Rhodes tint a, meeting was behi/v hold and asked* that he should be present.
