LADIES' MEETING.
A meeting of ladies and members of the committee was then held.
Mr Tennent moved tliat it be a recommendation for the committee that all of the children taking part be given refreshments. In doing so, he explained that peace celebrations came only once in a lifeiime, and it was only right that the committee should*do all in its power to entertain the whole of the children.
The motion was seconded Ly the Chairman and carried unanimously.
Mr Williams then outlined the proposed programme, and after hearing suggestions from the ladies it was finally agreed that the committee’s delegates, together with the ladies carry out the arrangements, the children to be asked to bring their own drinking utensils. Mrs Lowe moved that Mrs J. Brown and Miss McPherson meet the sub-committee and make arrangements for the purchase of the necessary articles. As a large number of lady helpers is needed the committee asks every lady who can help to give in her name to Mrs J. Brown or the Chairman of the Committee (Mr W. 11. Parfltt).
