THE SUPREME SACRIFICE. Private Heather, who sailed for the Western front with one of the earlv contingents, but became ill _ on reaching Etaples, France was invalided to England and then to-'Uew Zealand, died suddenly in the Westport Hospital on Wednesday. He followed the seafaring life before enlisting. Government passes had arrived for his transfer to the Cambridge Sanatorium, hut he was too ill for removal, and died as above stated.
