PRESBYTERIAN BAZAAR.

A SUCCESSFUL EVENING

In spite of the depressing weather that prevailed last night the warmhearted friends of St. John's Church, including many belonging to other denominations rallied to the Trin.ty Hall where the stallholders did excellent business all the evening and reduced their stocks very considerably as their prices were favorable in every respect and the quality of the articles was indisputably good. The greatest fun, however, was centred in the various competitions which were greatly appreciated, Mr. T. Waugh proved that if all else in the shape of occupation failed, he could turn his hand to domestic service, as he won the bed-making competition with brilliant work and was awarded a lady's handkerchief satchel. Whenever milliners are scarce any employer Vvould be lucky to secure Mr. W. Watson, as the taste he displayed in hat trimming won him not only a pair of handsome photo frames but the envy of many lady critics. Mrs. Yates showed her skill as a nail driver of great repute and received a. pair of vases for winning the competition. To-day the bazaar opened again at 3 p.m. and the wise selection of ili: hall to hold it in was fully justified as numbers of people who had polled either at the Town Hall or Courthouse, dropped in and assisted the worthy cause.

This evening all the competitions will be repeated, including that of the ladies sawing which there was not time last night to get off and there will also be a promenade concert held.
