KUMARA HOSPITAL TRUSTEES

A meeting" of the Kumara Hospital Trustees Was held at Kumara on Friday Evening. There were present Messrs J. A. Murdoch (chairman), McGlone, J. Joriensen. Palmer and C. Evenden. CORRESPONDENCE. From Miss Hood, forwarding her resignation. —Accepted and referred to the Board. • ■•'■■■■ . .. From Dr. Phillips, asking for his holidays.—Granted on the usual terms. From the Charitable Aid Board, _ forwarding cheques for supplies.—Received. from Mr Louie Anderson, forwarding amount of £lo.—Received. From Geo. Downes, forwarding cheque for the amount of £1 10s.—Received. From the Old Age Pension Officer, re the estate of Morgan Hardy (deceased).— Received. MATRON’S REPORT. The Matron’s report stated that the number of patients in the Hospital on October 30th were 37; admitted during November, 11; tota treated during November 41; died, nil; discharged, 14; remaining in the Hospital on November 30th ( 27. The report was approved of. HOUSE COMITTEE’S REPORT. Mr Palmer, on behalf of the House Committee, reported that there had been some complaints with regard to Mr Morgan havig drink down at the Hospital, otherwise everything was going on well. The Matron requires some new sheeting. There bad been two loads of gravel delivered. The main drains will have to be cleaned out again and wanted a smaller grating. Repairs had to be effected to the hot ■water pipes. , The report was received and adopted. 1 Mr McGlone: I should like to state that theie should be two housemaids, as there is too much work for one, and I ask you to recommend that the Board pay the housemaid £1 extra for this month. This was carried. FINANCE. The receipts amourited to £lO5 15s lOd. Accounts passed for payment amounted to f<93 18s 4d. GENERAL. Mr Murdoch was appointed on the House Committee, Messrs Palmer and McGlone retiring by rotation. A vote of thanks to the chair concluded the meeting.
