MASTERTON UNDER NO-LICENSE

[To THW EDITOU.I

Sir, —Some of the remarkable effusions emanating from the liquor party during the past few- weeks would excite one’s amusement were it not for the fact that the more ignorant section of the community—not knowing the trade nor their marvellous facility for disto ting facts —are liable to be misled by them. Day after day their misrepresentations are licing exposed and yet they still have the unblushing effrontery to continue their campaign of distorted facts and half-truths. Only yesterday there appeared in your columns a Presg Association message which contained a complete and overwhelming refutation of that beautifully faked Mastcrton picture placard. In the face of such daily occurrences as these is one justified in placing any reliance whatever-in the literature they spread broadcast in New Zealand.
