THE ENGINE-DRIVERS’ UNION.
[TO THi; BPITOH.]
Sir, —I have been directed by my Executive to call your attention to a local that appeared in your issue of Holiday, November 20th, which se!s forth that the late secretary resigned ovying to “obstructive proceeding on the part of sortie of the members.” This is absolutely incorrect. The late secretary’s resignation was tendered to a demand made by the Union that he should resign, the. Union Executive and other members being of the opinion that business was not being carried on either according to instructions or in the best interests of the Union. Trusting that you will kindly make this correction public. lam etc., T. H. LATIMER, Acting Sec.
[The information was supplied to one of our staff from the only source we have obtained news of the doings of the Union since its inception ; the secretary. who dictated the term referred to and approved of it after it had appeared in the paper.—Ed. E.S.]
