MEETING OF MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE. [fir IgLfiOfiAffl—PSfi. PBES3 ASSOCIATION.] WELLINGTON, March 23. The Management Committee of the New Zealand Rugby Union met loilight; The Daiinevirke sub-Union forwarded an appeal against the decision o'f the Hawke’s Bay Union, in roniovkig the disqualification imposed by the subUnion. It was decided that as the appeal had- not been lodged within the stipulated period, the Committee could not consider it.
The Festival of Empire Sports Committee wrote asking the Union to give the Committee some assistance in raising funds for the purpose of having New Zealand represented at the Festival of Empire Sports. The amount required, it Avas stated, Avas at least £2OO. It was decided to donate £5 ss.
The secretary of the English Association Wrote as follows : “Your letter re Maori team has been placed before the Union and we are glad to learn of their loyalty to amateur code and success of their recent tour in Australia. My committee however are unable to arrange for them to tour this country.” It was decided to inform the Maori team accordingly. In response to a letter written by the New Zealand Union in October last, in reference to the local alteration of Law 12, dealing with ball in touch, the secretary of the English Union Avrote stating that his committee recommended that in the event of the ball not alighting at right angles five yards from the touch line, that a scrummage should be formed ten yards out. It was decided to adopt the recommendation and advise Unions and referees to this effect.

An application was received urging that separate selectors be appointed to look after Nelson , Marlboro ugh, West Coast, and Buller Unions, instead of three selectors for the whole .of the South Island as at present.

The Council of the Nbav Zealand Football Association, this evening, revised the rules in regard to the Council, which Avill in future consist of seven members elected at the annual meeting of delegates. The allocation of the net gate money at the Brown Shield matches, Avas altered to twothirds to the challenging Association, and one-third to the holders.
