POLLARD’S PICTURES.
The usual Sunday night- picture entertainment was given at the Opera House last night, and was well .patronised, the large hall being crowded. An elaborate programme consisting chiefly of travel films was presented. Many of the pictures, such as that illustrating the habits and customs of the Hindoos, were really educative, the scene depicting the daily course of exercises to which the sacred elephants are subjected being most effective. The international balloon competition was another star film that gave the audience an insight into the working of these aerial machines that they would never otherwise acquire. The inevitable burlesque was screened and fairly convulsed the audience.
As the hall will be occupied the whole of this week by the Star Football Club, the next picture display will not eventuate until Sunday.
