VALEDICTORY.
PRESENTATIONS AT POST OFFICE. On Thursday evening the '^■'"''VI'* 1 '* of the local Post and Telegraph O.'hce assembled in the Telephone Exchange room for the purpose of saying gowtbye. to two of their members. Miss Kerr, who had resigned awl ■who is to be married to Mrs <-. vv. Yates of this town, was made (lie recipient of a handsome afternoon tea service. , . ~ , Mr Aitken (Chief Clerk) in the absence of the Chief Postmaster m a few well-chosen remarks, referred to ten regret that was felt at Miss Kerrs resignation from the service and wished her every happuvness and success in her new sphere of life. AH J. O'Reilly suitably replied o.i frenall of Miss Kerr. .. , Mr R. T. C. Roberts, late teller of the Money Order and Savings Bank ■was the other departing officer, he having been appointed Postmaster at. Denniston. , Mr Aitken expressed regret at losing such a capable officer and on behalf of the staff asked his acceptance of a beautiful travelling bag and a set of military brushes and wished him plenty of good luck and success in the future. Mr Roberts feelingly responded. The singing of "For they are jolly eood fellows" and three hearty cheers brought the Utile ceremony to n close.
