The New Zealand Shipping Company has entered into a contract with the Canadian Coivenimeiit to load steamers from Eastern Canadian ports to Australia and New Zealand. It has been decided to make the service a monthly one and to discharge steamers at Melbourne, Sydney, Auckland, Wellington. Lyttelton and Dunedin. The proposal is to load at Montreal in the summer and at St. John's in the winter. The first steamers to bo despatched will he the Rakaia from Montreal 14th May. Whakatane from Montreal 15tli dime.
