THE GREYMOUTH GUN CLUB.
Saturday afternoon proved an ideal shooiin" day as there was very little find and tlfe sky was almost c oudles, consequently those who took part in the opening o£ the newly formed Gie>nou h Gun Club enjoyed the sport of "potting the clay" at the| Karoro .rounds Mr T. W. Bruce (Mayor o Ross) fired the first shot and declared the club open for sport. As a member of the club he was pleased to see so many present and hoped that they would often meet to indulge in friendly competition. His shot was successful. Subsequently about twenty members took part in firing for the prizes given by Messrs It. Alison and W. Thomas the winner proving to be Mr L. Lord, who killed five birds not missing one shot. Messrs Alison, Davey, Beale Matliieson and Duncan tied for second place killing four birds each. They will decide, the tie on Wednesday if possible when the competition for Mr Frank Griffin's prize will also be fired and other matches started. The club now numbers over forty members all of whom are taking an active interest in the shooting competitions therefore the future of the club is likely to be attended with considerable success.
