This show remained open all day yesterday and till late last night attracted a cii nsiderable amount of attention, the fanciers and others being highly pleased with the excellence of the exhibits. The cooking exhibits formed a very good and attractive exhibition, and were very much admired. In this connection it may bo said that doubts have been expressed as to whether Mrs Robertson’s first prize cake was really a cake or only a dummy, 'to settle this, Mrs Robertson has asked Mr McQueen to have it cut during this evening, and he has arranged for Mrs Coates to undertake this duty at eight o’clock this evening, just before the drawing of the Art Union. .This event is fixed for 9.30 p.m. and is already attracting a good deal of attention owing to the number of good prizes (including the gold nugget) which are given. The following are the prizes awarded after wo went to press yesterday:— POINTS PRIZES (Cooking). Mrs J. Robertson takes Mr J. Gow’s trophy with 11 points, also the Zealandia Company’s prize with 12 points. Miss Olive Memo (Technical School) takes Mr Kennedy’s set of gas iron for gaining the most points in the Technical School competitions, Miss Maria Robinson being next with 14 points. SPECIAL PRIZES. Winner of South Island Championship, golden wyandotles.—,l. Steer. Winner of South Island Championship, Plymouth rocks.—R. J. Thompson, Kaiala. Most points, minorcas.—J. Wesley, Oranity, 10 points. Best Orpington.—Mrs J. Meade. Most points, silver wyandottes. Cairney, 10 points. Won out. Best brown leghorn cockerel or pullet.— T Jones. Best leghorn in show, gold medal.-—T. Jones. The Cairney trophy, silver cup, for best cockerel or pullet.—T. Jones. Club trophy, white leghorns, most points.—Spiers and Kearns, tie, 9 points each. Chib trophy, langshans.—J. Southward. Won nut.
