SALVATION ARMY.

HARVEST FESTIVAL SERVICES,

During the last few days, the local Corps of the Salvation Army have held very successful Harvest festival services. The services on Sunday were very well attended. Major Tyford, in charge of the Children's Work (South Island) telling two very telling addresses' 1 . At the evensong, he took for his text 'Be sure your sins will find you out,' , and In course of an eloquent address pointed out a person would reap that which lie had sown. Therefore, he fervently appealed to all to lead a better life, so that in due course they would reap the Golden Harvest of Eternal Life. Special Hymns etc, appropriate to the occasion were sung. _

On Monday night a special service was held, when a pleasant evening was spent. Songs and recitations were given after which a coffee supper was held. Major Tyford recited very effectively 'Asleep at the Switch.' while Captain Harvey, of the Brunner Corps, gave several selections _ on his mouth organ-auto harp combination, which were greatly enjoyed. To-night the Corps intend to have a Harvest march in costume, commencing at 7.30 o'clock, to be followed by a Harvest service witk limelight arrangement. The admission will be sixpence and the officers hope to have a record attendance. After the service a sale of gifts etc, will take place Refreshments etc will be handed
