Collarit, with a middle weight up. ran a mile and a quarter in 2.21, but fiuubnd badly. The best gallop by a Cup candidate was done by Dividend, who covered two miles in 3.47^. CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. To-day was an off-day at Riccarton and proceedings were uninteresting. Replete went half a mile on the plough in SOsce. Half to steady pacing was accomplished by the others out. After breakfast Buccleuch went a mile at three-quarter speed. Even lode and Narcissus were companions in a schooling task over ,-ix hurdles. Both gave a good exhibition John Peel was an absentee owing to injury received yesterday. This will pre vent him fulfilling his engagements.
