Taicri, Kamona, Arahura. The Kennedy sails this afternoon for Wanganui direct. The Charles Edward leaves Wellington to-day, is due hero via Nelson on Thursday, and sails proban ■ Wanganui. The Jane Douglas left Hokitika last night for Bruce Bay, is expected here tomorrow, and will then load and sail for long South ports. An officer of the Public Works Department is to be sent to Oleum to report on the improvement of the berthage of the Okura wharf. It is expected that this will involve the necessity for some bar hour improvements there. The schooner Eunice has completed loading at Hokitika, and left last evening for Lyttelton._ The Arahura arrived from the north at eight o’clock last night. Owing to the large amount of cargo lb discharge, her departure has been postponed until five o’clock this evening.

The Mapourika left Wellington this afternoon tor Nelson and the Coast. She is due at Grey on Thursday morning, and will sail on return at 9 p.m.

The Taicri sails for Timaru and Lyl tellon to-morrow morning.

The Jane Douglas sailed from ITokitiki for Bruce Bay only for a load of hemp from Messrs Chinn and Taylor’s mill, and a quantity of wool. On her return she makes her periodical long South trip. The Petone sailed for Wellington this morning with a cargo of Blckball coal. The Kennedy, which sails for Wangan' to-night, is taking a full load of sleepers for the North Island Main Trunk Rail way, to the order of the Public Works’ Department. The barquentinc May Flower from Syd ney and schooner Clyde from Wellington are daily expected to put in an appearance.

The renewing of the old portion of the wharf between the Nos 1 and 2 hydraulic cranes was commenced yesterday by the Railway Department, and other works are also in progress in connection with what is known as Mr Ronayne’s scheme.
