THE ENTOMBED MINER.

- A HEROIC DIVER. [By Tr eouaph—Puess Association.] PERTH, This Day. Hughes, the diver, visited Varischette, the man entombed in the recent mine accident, who still maintains good health. Hughes’ lirst appearance struck terror in the heart of the prisoner. A letter from Varischette’s brother has been conveyed to him. The diver encountered many difficulties and had a couple of narrow escapes, losing the weights from his feet on two occasions, thus making it difficult for him to keep upright. At one point the pass is so narrow that Hughes has to wriggle through.
