THE ANNIVERSARY OF A DEATH DAY. (To the Editor.) Sir, —About 1900 years ago the Romans, at the instigation of the clerics of a conquered race living in Palestine, put to death by the common form of execution one of the most perfect examples of a Socialist. He taught the brotherhood of man, that the poor had rights, condemned divorce, by example and precept taught humility, and the eacredness of child life. He drew a picture of the hist judgment, depicting the population of the universe gathered together and separated into two sections, each unit beum judged for neglecting to give .food to the hungry, drink to the thirsty, aid to the stranger, clothing to the naked, and forgetting the sick and those in prison. He denied that He was good, stating that there was one goo: on jy—that is, the Creator. He affirmed that there was one Deity only, at a time when our fore-fathers in Britain wor shipped God every day in the week, ns the names of our week days prove, viz - moon worship on Monday, etc. We as a people have adopted the teaching and Jewish faith of Christ, and I trust, Sir. that Good Friday being the anniversary of His death day will be kept as a holy day. -I am,etc- A CO LONIAL.
