THE WRECK AT MANLY.

BARQUE ON THE ROCKS. DRIVEN ASHORE IN A GALE, [by EtEcraic telegeaph.—coPYsioin j (PER MIESS ASSOCIATION.) SYDNEY, May 24.—There is a heavy easterly gale blowing, which has been prevailing all day. The rough sea and dirty weather is 'delaying shipping. From Manly it has just been reported that an unknown vessel, supposed to be a threemtsied French barque, is on the rooks a mile from Manly, and is making :,ignals of distress. The dirty weather and high sea running seriously endanger her. A tug has gone to her assistance. Received this day at 9.51 a.m. SYDNEY, This Day. The vessel ashore at Manly is the French barque Vincennos from Yokohama in ballast for orders. She arrived off the heads yesterday afternoon and signalled for a 'pilot. A gale was raging, and the weather was too thick for the signals to bo seen at the pilot station. She gradually drifted ashore on the ocean beach, and now lies broadside en witli an even keel embedded in sand. Shortly after she struck, four of the crew managed to reach the shore in a boat in a greatly exhausted condition. The pilot steamer went lo the scone, but the sea was too rough to render assistance. She stood by till this morning, when the weather was calm. At low water it was almost possible to walk aboard. There is only about four foot of water where she lies'settled in the sand. There are good prospects of salving, if the weather holds good. The balance of lb crew remain aboard.
