A MUSICAL DISCLAIMER.

(To the Editor.) Sir,—Tho letter published in your Saturday's issue over the nom de plume of* ".Music" has,no doubt, given surprise to some of your readers, but wo feel sure to none in a more marked degree than to us, whoso names the correspondent apparently seeks to surround with cheap and extensive notoriety. Contemplating the probability of erroneous opinions recording tho authorship, we desiro to assert that directly or indirectly, wo liavfi had no part in the effusion or tho instigation thereof. Our would-be champion is not thanked by us for his spontaneity, and wo think that before vaunting our names before the public on a pretext so trivial, his sense of delicacy might have promoted him to havo first consulted our pronounced susceptibilities in tho domain of humility. Yours etc., — j. ¥. McCarthy. A. GEO. HOLDER. Greymouth, May 21, 1906.
