Mr James O’Malley was voted to the chair. He regretted very much that Mr McLellau was going away, and said that his friends could not let him go without showing that they appreciated his many acts of kindness and on behalf of the station hands from Mount White and residents of the Christchurch road, he asked him to accept a handsome gold hunting lever vvalcli as u token of the esteem in which lie was held. On behalf of all present ho wished him well wheroevor ho went.

Mr Dunbar,.the new manager of (he station, also spoke a few words, and, judging by the many kind remarks made by the chairman, he felt that the station was losing a good and faithful man.

The recipient, in well chosen words, thanked one and all from ihe bottom of his heart for the handsome present. He felt that ho did not deserve it. lie was sorry to lose so many good and faithful friends, and they' could feel sure that he would cherish the gift as long as he lived.
