COMPENSATION COURT AWARDS.

The Compensation Court has given judgment in the cases in which claims I were made against the Kilburnie and Karori Tramway Company for the land taken for and the property injuriously affected by the continuation of the Company's line from Lambton Quay to the Botanical Gardens. In the claim the llev. W. ,51. Fell for £2300 the court awarded £740 19s fid without costs, the award to cover all the subsidences unless caused by new work. In A. J. LittleJohn's claim for £l5O the court awarded £230 without costs, and not to apply to future subsidences. George Bastins claim of £OOO was reduced to £441 without costs, the award to ba reduced by £OO if the rent was reduced. Owen McCardlc's claim for £ 150 was reduced to £289 without costs, the award to be reduced by £3l if the rent is reduced. The Company is also required to maintain a bridge to give access to the property of one claimant and a protecting wail in another case. In each case the respective parties arc to pay fees of £7 7s per day of their assessor.
