THE OLDEST MAN ON THE JOB.
Two boiler-makers were one day repairing a Lancashire boiler, when a joiner passing by stopped for a few moments to watch the men at work. After standing a few minutes he asked the following question of one of the men :—“I have often wondered how you chaps goes on when you have the last irivet in. How does the fellow that’s inside the boiler get out. again ?” The one addressed thus gave the following reply, : —"Why, we gets the oldest man on the job an’ leaves him in !"-
