Toole, the actor, sitting at a table next to a gentleman who bait helped himself to a very large piece of bread took it up and began to cub a slice from it. “ Sir,” said the gentleman, “ that is my bread.” “ 1 beg you a thousand pardons, sir,” replied Toole, “ I declare 1 mistook it for the loaf.”
