THE MONTH’S ACTIVITIES ENGINEER’S REPORT At yesterday’s meeting of the Manawatu County Council the Engineer reported ; —• REPORT Main < Magi! ways.—The Himutangi-Sanson and ibe ruetalled portion of tlie MimatungiRangotu roads had been repaired and surface metal spread. The Tang-imoana highway had been patched, and the usual maintenance work, drain cleaning and surface grading had been continued on all other main highways. Ridings.—ln the Sun don riding the low places on a sliorl stretch of the Oliakea road bad been banked and built up with | metal. Wightman’s and Ngaio roads bad been patched. Grad- I ing had been carried out on the following roads: Taylor’s. OU River, Melon ueT’s. Richardson’s Gust’s and Oliakea. Two bridges on Wilson’s road bad been restricted to three ton loads and one bridge on Cemetery road t-five-tou loads. The banking work on tli Kinva Kawa road in the Mt. Stewart riding bad been proceeded with bv unemployed labour from Feilding. The usual drain cleaning was now in progress throughout tlie riding, nv.d tile following roads had been graded: Kowliai, Ranfurly and Mt. Bi g g’s -Ha 1 c ran be. Tn the Kawa Kawa riding the usual maintenance had hcc-n proceeded with. Drain cleaning bad been undertaken on Tnikoren, Fyke's, Cooper’s Urn 1 Fellow’s roads.
