The death has occurred in London of Mrs Edgar Wallace, widow of the famous novelist. The Rev. Dr. Cecil Wilson, Bishop of Bunbury, and Mrs Wilson have arrived from Sydney on a holiday visitMr Ed. Bourke, postmaster at Rangivahia, lias received notice of his transfer on promotion to the Masterton Post Office. Mr A.. IT. Burn, of the Dannevirke staff, will fill the Rangiwahia vacancy. The passing of Mr Charles Monro removes one of the best known and most highly respected personalities in the Manawatu district and one of its pioneer settlers. He was born at Waimea West, Xelson, in 1841.
