NORTH ISLAND TITLE MRS ANSTIS PROMINENT (Per Press Association) Palmerston North, Jan. 12 The first life of the women’s championship was decided at the North Island croquet; tourney to-day and was won by Mrs Austis (Takaro), who also won the second life of the chumship. Mrs Anstis met and defeated her club-mate, Mrs Simpson, 20—24, 20—13. In the final of the semi-final Mrs Anstis heat Mrs Langford (Northern), 20—4. The final of flu* handicap singles will he pDayed on the Manawatu Croquet Clul>'greens to-morrow between Airs Anstis and Alls Simpson.
