AWARDED HER CLAIMS AGAINST INSURANCE COMPANIES (Per Press Association) Wellington, August 16. A reserved judgment running- Into 30 pages of typed manuscript hi •favour of plaintiff was delivered bv Air Justice Reed to-day in the case heard in the Supreme Court in June in which Elizabeth Johnson alleged that her husband John Johnston, after having deliberately ‘caused her left leg to be crushed by a train at the Ohau railway crossing, forged insurance documents and obtained certain money under two accident insurance policies held by her. ATi's Johnston claimed £260 from the Commercial Union Assurance Co. and £SOO from the Australasian Temperance and General Mutual Life Assaurance Society. llis Honour gave judgment lor Mi’s Johnson against the Commercial Union for £245 ios and against the T. and G. Society for the full amount of £SOO, together with costs . His Honour said he thought tlie evidence established that Mrs Johnson received her injury by jumping* out of her husband’s car and falling on the railway line. On the question of forgery, his Honour found that the documents were forged.
