(Received Aug. 12, 2 p.m.) Sydney, August- 12* “Grave national vra,ruing” to the Government p.nd people of Australia has heen issued by the Graziers’ Association of New South Wales which in letters to Premier Lyons and Premier iSte.yen..-, declares that the greatest primary industry of the State was, already disintegrating ,a.ud bordered on a gtate of financial collapse. “Recovery may still ho possible,” (he Association estates, “hut only by bold, drastic aud swift action hy our national leaders —actio, n which must he completed before the wool export season opens on the 2th inst.” ACTION TAKEN Canberra, August 12. The 7Federal Cabinet at a. meeting decided upon the appointment of an expert committee to carry out a full
investigation of the wool .industry in Australia, with, a. view to. determining what step s are necessary to bring about a rehabilitation oi the industry; Air Lyons in 'making this announcemeiutvroeaid the committee in all probability would comprise seven members, but, its personnel liad not yet been completed. This decision of the Cabinet followed an interview: which Air Lyons had with Sir Graham Waddell, Preyidant of tho Woolgrowers’ Council in Sydney, in the course which Sir Graham pointed out -the urgent necessity for assistance, being proyived in order to place, the wool industry ow a. basis which would be profitable to* the grower.
