THE MONTH'S ACTIVITIES

REPORT FROM ENGINEER At the meeting of the Manawatu County Council Mr H. 5 ■ Bond, county engineer,- reported as follows: Ml. Stewart rilling: Kowhai road hag been patched and surface metal spread. All drains on this road have been opened up and some new drains have bectn ma'le. Lee s Line is now receiving attention. The road surface is being patched, watertables and drainage matters are being .attended to and some cuttings are being widened. Grading has been continued on all roads where necessary. Sandon: A 9 inch concrete -ptpp culvert lav been put in < u Erasers road. Some metalling was undertake,, on F Eeekliugt'in’s. Line and drains and culverts were cleaned on McDonnell's 7 me. Waitolii: Tlie do. king of a bridge on Banks-Waitohi road has been repaired and drains have been clean* ed on the Kopave end of Tbipo road, also Rowe' Line. Rungotea: Grading has been eontinned on most of the roads in this riding. Drains have been cleaned on Tonipkin’s land Kaimatarau h)ul.-.. Slips have been cleared and watertables cleaned on Leen’s Line. Surface metal has been spread on Mill, Leen's and Sanson's roads. Krtwa. Kawu: Sand blows have been attended to on Downs and Kellow's roads. The surface metalling of Taikorea road from No. maiu highway to Couper’s Lino is now completed.
