RIG POLICE ESCORT FOR THE RIBBON-SLASHER again before: court tAust. and N.Z. Cable’ Sydney. March 22. Captain De Grout appeared before Mr Laidlnw, S.M., at the Central Police Court on three charges in connection, witii the bridge incident. He was remanded until April i. His departure from the court was marked by ,a. demonstration. Air Eric Campbell, leader of the New Guard, and De Grout were escorted by a, big hatch of police to a tram in George Street. Policemen lined the running-boards of the tramear, gradually jumping off ns the 'angry mob was left behind.
