TESTER DAY ’S STTTING MORTGAGORS’ BELIEF BILL PASSES ALL STAGES ANOTHER LONG SITTING (Pet Press Association). Wellington, March 22. The House debated the, second reading of the Mortgagors and Tenants Relief Bill.. Wishing to put the Bill through before tlie Easter adjournment, tiio Prime Minister secured urgency the first thing in the afternoon. A conservative, note was struck by the Minister of Finance, Hon. W. Downie Stewart, who, pointed out that the Government was between two fires in attempting to give relie r to tliie honest, debtor and at the same time running the danger of discouraging investment of savings which were so important to the State, local bodies and borrowers.
