Mr Cosgrove, who hoMs the post-war record of eight years of continuity in office, has consistently stood ior friendship. with Britain, for both material and national safety reasons. Mi* De Valera, of Spanish extraction has persistently waged war against Britain and all things British. Tt is sign'fii. nt 1 lint in the- present campaign De Valera has toned down his anti-British bitterness in orflev to strengthen Ids hid for power and to make good hie; claim that his party ran rule Ebii,Vhern Irelahid hotter than the Cosgrave Party, which it should he remembered has brought peace and prosperity to the Free Stale.
