LIGHTS GLIDE CITY TRAFFIC SHIPPING AT STANDSTILL lAuat. and N.Z. Cable) Rugby, Novemlier 30. A fog which was widespread over London and most of South-eastern England yesterday, persisted to-day but was loss dense except oil the Taaniaj estuary, where shipping was at a standstill. Railway timetables were to some extent disorganised, particularly in Kent, and road traffic was slowed down generally. The fog enveloped the riverside warehouse*, and because of the difficulty of inspecting samples the London w *>l sales were postponed. The city of London was in darkness because of the heavy pall of fog overhead, but the traffic proceeded normalv by the light- of the street- lamps.
