A whole family of seven was wiped out at Carlisle, a. suburb of Perth during the night. The victims are Roderick, Davies, aged 36, a carpenter, his wife, aged 35, and the, children, comprising two daughter* l aged 13 and ID, and three sons, aged 12, 6 and live months. All wore shot in the temple, au parontly in bed. Tlie husband was in a sitting posture in an easy chair with a. bullet wound in his head and his wrist flashed with a razor.
A note in the husband’s hand writing was tacked to the front doo*: inviting a. neighbour to ,go inside. The neighbour did so, and was confronted bv a shocking spectacle. The. police have ascertained tliat the husband wa s recently melancholy owing to prolonged unemployment and was in distress. Apparently ho shot his wife and the children, and then committed suicide.
