GIVES A SUDDEN TURN TO POLITICAL SITUATION PLAGES MOTION BEFORE THE HOUSE WHICH IS CARRIED INTO EFFECT IMPORTANT DEVELOPMENTS ALL PARTIES TO CONFER THE CHOICE OF PERSONNEL The New Zealand political situation underwent a- sudden and dramatic change yesterday afternoon, when the debate on the. Financial Statement was interrupted to allow the Leader of the Opposition, the Hon. J. G. Coates to move a motion (quoted in otir leading doßuin.it on page 4-) proposing a conference of representatives of all parties in the House to decide ways and means of meeting the present serious economic situation. MOTION CARRIED After a brief debate, in which! it met with general agreement, the notion was carried and the House rose until next- Tuesday. CHOOSING OF DELEGATES As 'Premie 1 !* Forbes luu! stated tbat the ba«i.s c»1 re*|> reseittution lor special committee of investigation would b«> three I'nit-eel members, three Reform three Labour and one Independent, the parties met to select their delegates. THK PL R SON NFL Later it was announced that the representatives of the three main parties will be:— For United: Premier Forbes, the Hon. F. A. Ransom and Rir Aplrana. Ngain. For Reform; Hon. J. G. Coates Hon. Downio Stewart a.nd Mr D. Jones. For Labour: Messrs H. F. Holland. M. J. Ravage and J. MciOombs. It it expected that Mr Wilkinson will, he the choi.ee: -of the seven. Independents.
